Couples Photos Built Around Something You Enjoy

What do you actually enjoy doing together? Start there. A couples session doesn’t need an elaborate theme, and it definitely doesn’t require taking up a new hobby for the photographs.

Choose something familiar

Think about a walk you like, a place you return to, or an interest you share. It doesn’t have to sound impressive. It just needs to give us a way to begin.

Tell me why you like it. The answer might be the architecture, a memory, or simply getting to talk without distractions. That helps me understand which part matters to you.

Keep it easy enough to enjoy

Choose an activity with room to interact and pause. If it takes all your concentration, we may need a simpler way to include it in the session.

Talk to me about equipment, reservations, or permission before committing. Carrying an entire activity setup across town can turn a fun idea into quite a lot of homework.

Leave room for the two of you

We can mix movement and interaction with a few quieter portraits. The activity gives us something to work with, but it doesn’t need to be happening in every photo.

And if you don’t have a shared hobby, you’re fine. Pick somewhere you like being together. You can enjoy each other’s company without needing matching interests or a session theme.

A few things to plan

A few questions you might have

Do couples photos have to be engagement photos?

No. Anniversaries and engagements are lovely reasons, but you can also just want photographs together.

What if we do not have a shared hobby?

You don’t need one. A place you enjoy spending time together is a good start.

What if our favorite activity would be difficult to photograph?

Tell me what matters about it. We can talk about a related place or detail that keeps the idea manageable.

Let’s talk about your photographs

Tell me what the two of you like doing together and when you’d like photographs. Let’s see what we can make of it. Explore my photography and approach or send an inquiry.
